Global Engagement

One of the main goals of almost every national government is to unite globally and accomplish the life threatening issues together. One way that we can accomplish global engagement is through the United Nations.  According to a Ghanaian diplomat the "vision of the role of the United Nations in the next century flow three key priorities for the future: eradicating poverty preventing conflict and promoting democracy."  If every nation became united together we could make a huge difference in any aspect of our world.  As student's it is our responsibility to become globally engaged and to be self aware of what is going on within the world.

There are many ways that a student can become globally engaged. Before this learning module, I was not that interested in becoming globally engaged because I have lived in the United States my whole life. In a sense, I have lived in a bubble and I now realize the importance of global engagement. One way to become globally engaged is as simple as receiving a passport according to Dawn Kallestad.  Taking a foreign language or culture course can help you fully understand the world and becoming globally engaged. Taking the opportunity to study abroad is also another excellent way to become self-aware.

Students should become globally engaged to remain competitive in their career and life in general. If everyone remains competitive the economic issues that are now arising can be resolved and we can all grow together to improve the economy. Making yourself self-aware of the issues in the world can improve your security and that of others. As you can see becoming globally engaged is possible for everyone to achieve and worth everyone's time.

Nations coming together to fight the problems is the only way to keep our way of life. Being globally engaged with other nations is the only answer.

It is very important for students to become more globally involved in these affairs. After all we are the future and we decide what is the outcome for this world.

I like how you used the United Nations as a reference to make change in the world. It is true that if we all could just work together as a human race instead of against each other Earth would be a much better place to live. It would also be more efficient were we can all address the problems of the world so we could solve them
